I haven't seen most of this stuff for decades. I think a lot of that kind of attitude has worn off.

Why are there so many loonies in the organization?
by Elsewhere in.
you know the type... always going on about how their car got possessed by the devil because someone left a pack of cigarettes in it.
or maybe their pots and pans started flying around the house because they bought something from a garage sale.. there are also the types who won't eat skittles because they contain an ingredient made from dried and crushed beetles... which means that they were not properly bled.. and the types who won't let their kids watch cartoons because the animals talk... like satan did with the snake.. then there are they types who are always into the latest get-rich-quick scam... or amway and trying to get everyone in the congregation to buy something.. oh, and don't get me started about the demon possessed smurfs who run around kingdom halls swearing and accosting the women with their teeny-peenies.. what's up with this!?!?

I'd pay a lot of money to see something like that at a District Convention but what I heard wasn't nearly as entertaining.

Apostate Logical Fallacies -- Part 1
by logansrun inlet me start out by saying that i would like nothing better than to see the society totally disappear one day and lose its controlling grip upon its members.
this forum is probably one of the most frequented sites for doubting jws and lurkers so i think it is important to be as skilled at combating the witnesses as is possible.
not every argument made against someone or something is a good one.

How would you tackle the North Korean problem?
by JH inif you were the president of the us, would you confront north korea or would you try to make a deal with them to reduce tensions.. north korea warns us: we can produce six atom bombsby rupert cornwell in washington.
16 july 2003 .
the crisis over north korea's nuclear weapons programme deepened yesterday as the north claimed it had made enough plutonium for six atomic bombs, and a former us defence secretary warned that the two countries could be at war by the end of the year.. the latest claim from pyongyang was communicated to the bush administration last week, three months after north korea said it was beginning to reprocess 8,000 spent nuclear fuel rods that were under united nations seal until the un inspectors were ejected from the country at the end of 2002.. us intelligence agencies are now trying to determine whether the boast is true or merely another bluff by the reclusive stalinist regime.. either way, the declaration has pushed the us president a step nearer deciding whether to accede to north korea's demand for direct negotiations - and thus drop his previous insistence that he would never bow to "nuclear blackmail" - or to accelerate plans for a military strike against the north's nuclear installations.. that spectre was raised yesterday by william perry, defence secretary under president clinton, when he told the washington post that the bush administration was "losing control" of the situation.. mr perry is a specialist on korea who helped prepare the military action which mr clinton came close to launching against yongbyon and other key north korean sites in 1994. he now fears that the north is not only close to a nuclear test to show the world it is a nuclear power, but also that it could sell a weapon to a terrorist group for use against the us.. "the nuclear programme now under way in north korea poses an imminent danger of nuclear weapons being detonated in american cities," mr perry said, adding that he had reached that conclusion after talks with bush officials in washington, and with senior figures in china and south korea.. china, reckoned to have the greatest leverage over of kim jong il's renegade state, launched a new effort this week to draw the north into regional talks to defuse the crisis, but mr perry told the washington post that as far as he could see, the "diplomatic track is inconsequential" and going nowhere.. the korean crisis has been largely ignored as washington has focused almost exclusively on iraq.

Howcome the WTS does not include personal testimonies...
by jgnat inhowcome the wts does not include personal testimonies in their meetings (i mean, ones that have not been edited by the writing department)?
oftentimes when i am preparing for an instructional course, i go looking for a sample completed form.
in order that my students are not led astray, i try and find the perfect sample.

What I'm talking about is not scripted. It happens all the time during the Watchtower Study or in parts where people get the opportunity to comment.

N Korea Military Tactics In A War With US
by ISP ina strategy of massive.
it knows that it will be fighting the superpower alone.
north korea makes its own submarines, landing drafts, high-speed missile-boats, and other types of warships.

In addition to Curious Mind's quite accurate comments on the T-62, the US would have air superiority in less that 48 hours. There's also a major issue related to quality, communist countries typically don't produce good products of any sophistication, even military. So most of the North Korean stuff probably won't work as advertised.

I wonder if North Korea may not be more of a shell than people realize, just like the Soviet Union. Their own people are starving, that can't be a stable situation. Maybe a little push is all it will take to topple them. Go ahead and cut off the fuel and the food, if China will cooperate. China is really not in much of a position to indefinitely sustain North Korea materially.
If that doesn't work, nuke the piss out of them.
